Lynn D. Fleisher, PhD, JD, is a medical geneticist and Counsel to the law firm of Sidley Austin, LLP, where she has practiced in the Chicago office since 1986. Lynn did the legal work to establish CURE in 1998, and has served as legal counsel to CURE on a pro bono basis since that time. Her expertise and guidance has impacted CURE across the organization from research to development and corporate governance. Whatever the request, she has always been available to both volunteers and staff.
Lynn’s legal practice focuses on health care association law, professional credentialing and telemedicine and e-health law. She represents associations, credentialing bodies and foundations in the health care area. Lynn also advises on legal issues related to new medical technology; standards of care and the development of clinical and laboratory practice guidelines; informed consent and confidentiality; and the provision of e-health, and telemedicine services. She lectures nationally on many of these subjects. Lynn has written numerous medical-legal articles for various publications, and developed and is a Co-Editor and author of the treatise, Telemedicine and E-Health Law.
Born and raised in New York, Lynn received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooklyn College, and her PhD in Human Genetics from Mount Sinai Medical School of the City University of New York. She is certified in Clinical Biochemical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. While serving as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Wayne State University School of Medicine, she earned her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from the Wayne State University College of Law.
Lynn lives in Chicago with her husband, John C. Roberts. Their daughter Emily is a law student at the University of Cincinnati College of Law where she is an Arthur Russell Morgan Fellow at the Urban Morgan Institute of Human Rights.
