Across the Great Midwest
Last week was the Third International Symposium: Dietary Therapy for Epilepsy & Other Neurological Disorders, hosted by the Charlie Foundation, held this year just outside Chicago in Bloomingdale, IL. It was great to be able to bring Lauren to parts of it, see old friends, and hear of amazing new research on and applications for dietary therapies–including, of course, our superstars Gary Yellen and Nika Danial, who presented their cutting-edge CURE-sponsored research!

The gala on the last night, with special guest Meryl Streep, was a great event–and got good press!
Over the weekend, Lauren and I traveled up the road just a bit to Madison Wisconsin, where Mike Gomoll of Joey’s Song hosted a cd release party and benefit concert. We had a fabulous time, and got to meet up with more good friends, Eileen Sutula, who kickstarted Madison Friends of CURE and has since become an amazing advocate for CURE and epilepsy awareness; as well as John Olson, who with his climbing mentor has climbed mountains (including Mt. St. Helens!) for epilepsy awareness.
