A Joyful Fall!
While I took a joyful break with family and friends to celebrate the wedding of my son Michael to his bride Liz, I’m happy to report that CURE friends and supporters around the country have been keeping up the momentum and hard work!
On the west coast, Teresa Walsh’s family hosted the second annual Teresa’s Birthday Benefit. It was a huge success, with over 180 guests in attendance to see live bands Biv & the Mnemonics and Cuban Cigar Crisis, as well as DJ Branded James. In addition, Erika Dubreuil made a great speech about living with epilepsy, impressing upon the audience how important this cause is.
Meanwhile, Mike Gomoll is hard at work in Madison, Wisconsin with last minute preparation for Joey’s Song, a cd release party and benefit concert, with part of the proceeds going to CURE. The event is Sunday night, and promises to be a fantastic night. If you’re in the area, check it out!
In Chicago, long-time friends Kathy Dodd and Stacey Pigott actually sold out their bi-annual Rock the Block a week ago–it’s guaranteed to be a fabulous success (and don’t forget, you can still make a donation!)
And, back on the east coast, our Maine CURE ambassador Christy Shake continues to do a fabulous job spreading the word. Read this great article in the Bowdoin Orient and check out Christy’s blog about her family’s struggle with epilepsy.
Thanks to all of you for joining this effort and our community–we welcome everyone’s involvement!
