A Car Wash for CURE!
You wouldn’t have guessed that the Rock the Block for Pediatric Epilepsy Junior Board has been on summer vacation–they’ve been hard at work raising money and awareness!
Formed last year under the leadership of Nancy Iida, the Junior Board (consisting of: Clay Cassato, Cameron Dodd, Hannah Elsman, Kevin Fortin, Catherine Friedman, Kimie Gelabert, Pete Hano, Dominique Iida, Luke Iida, Maddie Murnane, and Mitchell Talbott) is a great group of young and talented high school students from Chicago’s North Shore, many of whom have siblings with epilepsy. They have held several fundraisers including selling pizzas and bracelets and setting up a stand at the local sidewalk sale. This past weekend, they were at it again, hosting an incredibly successful car wash!
These kids are truly an inspiration! Not only are they reaching new supporters, and educating about epilepsy and CURE. They have already raised over $2,000 for pediatric epilepsy research… and have no plans of stopping now.
Sincere thanks to this great group! I am excited to see what they will do next. Also, if you’re in the Chicago area, make sure to get your tickets for the Rock the Block event coming up Saturday, September 29th. It promises to be another fabulous night supporting pediatric epilepsy research.
