Friends of CURE Gather in DC
I have incredible news to share with you. Last night CURE Board member Connie Milstein hosted a beautiful reception for CURE at the Newseum in DC, and announced that she will support our largest and most prestigious grant program next year! Connie’s gift of $500,000 will support the critical, cutting-edge research that we so desperately need to bring us closer to a cure for epilepsy!
All of us at CURE (and beyond) owe Connie a tremendous, heartfelt debt of gratitude–what an amazingly generous gift to patients with epilepsy and their families.
We also got a big surprise when Glee superstars Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch sent a taped message and sang a song about our Friend of CURE Awardee Tammy Haddad! We definitely agree with Matthew and Jane that Tammy deserves our volunteer of the year award–what she has done to raise the profile of this cause in DC and beyond is nothing short of remarkable. And, when somebody who is not even personally affected does as much as she has done, it’s hard to even find words to express how grateful I am.
Tammy asked everyone in the room to tell their friends they support a cure for epilepsy by going on Facebook and typing in “CUREforEpilepsy.” Click the “like” button. We challenge you to get 10 other friends to sign up!
And please join our year end campaign, “Every Dollar Counts/Every Seizure Matters.” Make a donation today.
Check out some photos from last night, and stay tuned for more in the next few days!
